He claimed that Ken Ofori-Atta was successful in ensuring that the economy, which was on the edge of collapse, increased at an average rate of 7% after the ruling party was brought into government in 2017.

He claimed that he could not turn his back on someone who accomplished that feat for the nation.

He stated that Ofori-outstanding Atta’s performance over the previous six years is why he is maintaining him in his position.

“When I took office in 2017, we were a part of an IMF program. For the first three to four years, the same Ken Ofori-Atta was able to control the economy. At the time, our economy had one of the highest rates of growth worldwide. Our annual growth rate was 7% on average.

“How do I turn my back on someone who has been able to do all these things? His performance has been outstanding in my opinion. As a result, I find it quite difficult to comprehend what is happening,” President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo remarked on Kumasi’s OTEC FM on Monday, October 17.

When Kwasi Kwarteng, his colleague in the UK, was fired by the Prime Minister due to consequences from the country’s mini-budget he [Kwarteng] presented, calls for Ken Ofori-dismissal Atta’s increased.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a North Tongu MP, is one such person who believes that the minister should no longer be in charge of his tasks.

Ken Ofori-Atta should be fired, according to him, exactly as Prime Minister Liz Truss fired Kwasi Kwarteng as the UK’s Finance Minister.

Ablakwa stated in a tweet that Kwasi Kwarteng “hasn’t done a quarter of the harm to the Ghanaian economy that Ken Ofori-Atta has inflicted but he gets to be terminated and Ken is showered with praises from his family member, President Akufo-Addo as Ghanaians wallow in further suffering. No justice in the world, which is sad.
