WN/R: Gov’t should involve chiefs in Green Ghana project

Nana Ayima Ngoah Kudom II, the Chief of Bibiani, has pleaded with the government to include traditional rulers in the Green Ghana Project to make it successful.

In an interview with Kofi Gyabaah of Adehyie FM in Bibiani, Nana indicated that the community always has traditional rulers at heart as compared to politicians.

He stated that if the chance is given to traditional rulers to spearhead this project, they can implement it with communal labour and “you can’t exempt yourself from the exercise without a tangible reason and go scot-free you’ll be dealt with according to the laws of that community,” Nana Ayima Ngoah Kudom II told the media.

He disclosed this when he led the people of Bibiani Township in a tree-planting exercise organised by him and his Kingmakers to plant more than 2,000 seedlings.

Nana Ayima Ngoah Kudom II stated that the distraction of ecology has scientific and spiritual implications for humans.

Nana said there is a need to preserve our land which has been distracted by human activities, by planting trees to reclaim our lands back into good use.

Some community members who took part in this exercise also indicated that they fully agreed and supported the appeal being given to the government by Nananom.
