NADMO DG PARTICIPATES IN 2019 GLOBAL PLATFORM FOR DISASTER RISK REDUCTION CONFERENCE IN GENEVA, SWITZERLAND

HON. ERIC NANA AGYEMANG PREMPEH PARTICIPATES IN 2019 GLOBAL PLATFORM FOR DISASTER RISK REDUCTION CONFERENCE IN GENEVA, SWITZERLAND

The Director General of NADMO, Hon. Eric Nana Agyemang Prempeh is currently participating in the 2019 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction Conference in Geneva , Switzerland.
The conference is organized by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The delegation includes Hon. Henry Quartey, MP, Deputy Minister of Interior, Ramses Joseph Cleland , Ghana’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Austria and Permanent Representative to the UN, WTO and other International Organizations in Geneva and Vienna ,
Major. Gen. Thomas Oppong-Peprah, Chief Of Staff Ghana Armed Forces/ Council Member NADMO, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, MP, Chairman- Parliamentary select committee on Defence and Interior and Mr.Koranteng Abrokwa, Head of Policy Planning and Research, NADMO.

Key on the agenda was how member countries can build resilience when it comes to disaster prevention and management. The UN is urging member countries to decentralize disaster management to the local communities in the way of building resilience and mitigation of disaster.
