Photo: Anas declares Police CID a ‘Clearing House’ in intercepted chat

Nsemwoha has in its possession a chat between ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and a follower (Name Withheld) on Facebook Messenger in which the Tiger PI boss makes damning claims about the Crime Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service, CID.

In the chat, Mr. Anas claims the CID is a Clearing House which takes instructions. “The CID is a clearing house, I happily refuse to collaborate with a clearing house…. They take instructions” he said.

Preceding the statement, the follower had asked why Anas had contracted a lady called Mabel to rundown the CID on her page.

Mr. Anas after his expose on the galamsey fraud which implicated persons at the Interministerial committee on illegal mining’s secretariat, bypassed the CID and submitted his findings to the Special Prosecutors Office instead.

Government through the minister of information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah have indicated that government through the appropriate public office mandated to investigate criminal offences would need to be provided the raw unedited tapes/rashes in order to have full disclosure on how matters unfolded to aid in a thorough investigation and prosecution of those found culpable.
