“Di Asa” which literally means ‘to dance’ is of course one of the most loved and watched reality show by most Ghanaians. The show which is aimed at engaging plus size market women in a dance competition also educates the market women on how to live a healthy lifestyles. The event which is organized by Atinka Tv was adjudged “The Best Television Reality Show” at the 2017 edition of the prestigious Radio and Television Personality awards.
Amazingly what most Ghanaians or the general public didn’t know was the hidden and rotten activities going on behind the scenes. As at now information reaching AkosuaBoatemaa.com indicates that the acting manager known as J.O.T has resigned after second edition of the reality show because it is alleged that he had something to do with one of the girls. It is also alleged that the C.E.O also had something to do with one of the girls in the group. As such this has forced the Deputy Event Organizer for Atinka Tv known as Afrifa to also resign because of such an unscrupulous act going on.
As if that was not enough, it took the intervention of some people as an Uncle of one of the contestants for the Season 2 edition named Shasha who doubles as her manager nearly got into furious fight the manager of Media Edge. They are responsible for the tracking of the text messages and votes that comes in.
Not knowing, Shasha’s uncle was tipping off the guys at Media Edge to make sure she emerges as the winner for the reality show but unfortunately she appeared third position and was awarded GHC 2000 and a tricycle as a prize.
If you thinking the contestants really enjoy themselves as it appears on our screens, then you get it all wrong. Now what Atinka Media House for the girls is to just cater for their food and water. That’s all. Nothing more nothing less than that.
There was an incidence where one of the contestants from the volta region called Delali had a fracture on her leg. She had to cater herself without any medical assistance from the event organizers whiles they were still being used throughout the program.
So we ask it unprofessionalism on the part of the event organizers or its greediness?
